Prayer Requests

updated:  11/10/2013

  1. COLLEGE- Brianna is almost through her first semester! She has been doing very well and has maintained excellent grades. We still need to finish paying for this semester before she can register for second semester classes.  Please pray for God's provision.
  2.  FINANCES- Since we are in the middle of transitioning from CEF to Hope4Kids-Springfield, our financial situation is a bit shaky.  We are looking for an established organization to be able to filter our money through until our own 501C3 is approved.  In the meantime, we are trying to pay for Brianna's college AND saving money so Cameron can begin classes in January to become an EMT ($600).  Oh- and Driver's Ed ($650) also!  We know God will take care of us and are trusting Him for all of our needs.
  3. ERIKA- School is more overwhelming this year than any of my other 13 years of homeschooling.  I'd like prayer that God will help me to know how to prioritize each day so that I get the most important things accomplished.
  4. MATT's ANKLE- Matt's ankle is STILL swollen and sore.  He is having physical therapy now trying to make a full recovery.
  5. New Ministry- This is our major request!  God has put so much in our hearts and is leading us to reach the kids in all 17 neighborhoods in Springfield.  Matt's goal is to do that by partnering with churches and other faith-based organizations; training them, and presenting opportunities to plant "churches" for kids in each of the areas.  We have learned that even if there is a great church just a half a mile down the road from one of these housing projects, kids will not be able to get there.  Church needs to come to them!  Our vision is to make churches for kids in community centers or anywhere in these neighborhoods that would allow the opportunity for kids to gather and hear the Word of God and build relationships with strong Believers.  Matt desires to partner with local businesses as well in order to help meet the physical needs of these kids.  This is a huge endeavor that is requiring so much faith!  Pray that Matt will listen to God, do what He says, and go where He sends.  No matter how difficult it may be or crazy it may seem.

  1. I devoted some time this morning to just praying for me and I am going to be selfish enough to share what I prayed and ask that if you have a moment you will pray these things for me as well.
  • take my thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor.10:5)
  • let the peace of Christ rule in my heart (Col.3:15)
  • do my work heartily as for the Lord rather than for man (Col.3:23)
  • have a joyful heart (Prov.11:22)
  • be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work (2 Tim.2:21)
  • remember that God has not given me a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline (2 Tim.1:7)
  • give thanks in everything (1 Thes.5:18)
  • devote myself to prayer (Col.4:2)
  • be anxious for nothing (Phil.4:6)
  • be a fragrance of Christ to God among all those in my life (2 Cor.2:15)

  1.   Please pray that our kids will "abhor what is evil; cling to what is good" (Romans 12:9)  We do not want our kids (or even us) to get desensitized to sin.  It is so hard these days!  Pray that none of us will be afraid to take a stand for what is right- even if no one else thinks it is a big deal
PRAISES:

Clothes for Micah!

We are so thankful for faithful friends who are praying for us and encouraging us along the way~
